The Craft Room and Summer House reorganisation goes on..and some new Bistro Table's etc

Well I‘ve not been idle, but still no mini work though!

I have added a number of pages to my blog (the the right of this post), these will be updated as and when I get time and when I have something new to add. There will be more pages, again, as and when I start on those projects. I also have approx. 4 or 5 kits that are currently themeless because I haven't decided what to do them as ! I have seen one more kit that I'd love...it's out of stock at the moment so I have to wait. Again, it will be a Harry Potter project (let's hope they restock it!). :o)

Anyhow, the space is clear on top of the chests of everything other than projects! YAY! The throw will be removed once my kits have their sticky foam pads on their bases (to protect my chests from scratches).

I have been sorting out and repacking on a grand scale. This weekend I sorted out my Summerhouse and took up there the majority of my supplies. I still need to go through some of the drawers in my craft room and check there‘s nothing lurking in there that I want up there now. It’s not easy when you have a fair bit of stuff…one's mind can get a bit overwhelmed!
 It's getting there....
The unit with the ceramic and chrome handles will go under my new craft table when it arrives.

I have ordered the remaining pieces of furniture and it should have been delivered on Friday, IKEA rang last Tuesday to say it would be delivered this Wednesday instead. I have bought the largest white table in the design I wanted, the double shelf unit and a chair. Hopefully these will be in situ by next weekend. :o)

The delay has given us time to paint the wood and more time to keep tidying up! I have one more box to pack away…this can’t be done until I go through the drawers in the tall units.
As I was sorting out the built-in book case I had an idea. ;o) This was to take off the door and use this cupboard instead. I originally wanted a two foot wide unit but I couldn’t see one so I opted for two, one foot units instead.  Using the bookcase meant I could now add smaller projects on the shelves. I’ve had the top shelf removed and I now plan to have a kit on new top shelf and a room box or small kits on the two other shelves. Books or DVD’s will stay on the very bottom shelf. For now I have other items on it…again it will be re sorted once the room is more done. The cupboard has been tidied up and redecorated.
Here is it revamped and ready for kits as and when they are completed.
The new high up shelf will hold lighter and smaller kits that I have...maybe one or two.
The plastic chests that were in my craft room are now in two's under the worktop. They were made in two sections already, so no sawing was required. :o) I have them all in there and this type of storage is far superior than numerous stacked boxes  on top of each other! I will label the drawers for more obscure things that I have. It stays mainly damp free, and my mini’s are fine. I did spot that some of the paint pots were wet with condensation, so I’ve added some silica bags in the drawers to keep things dry. I will get some more in different sizes and I will add the smaller one’s inside my witches house (hidden from view) just to be on the safe side.
It will make my life so much easier and it shouldn't take me so long to get to some of my more obscure supplies!
Pull out drawers at my disposal!
New mini's! I haven’t shown everything I have received recently as I have no where to photograph them. :o((

I have some new mini's for Mrs Puddifoot's Teashop and these photo's, well they do zero justice to Jason and Jacqueline Getzan's outstanding craftmanship! I love them to bits! They are quirky and wacky! They wouldn't be to everyone's taste because of this, but they are perfect for a project such as this. :o)))

I bought this table in November/December 2011 and Jason and Jacqueline so graciously put the other two aside for when I was ready to purchase. :o))) Rather than choose all the same type table's (which I couldn't as I bought the last cherry cupcake table), I chose to have 3 different ones.
The Blueberry cupcake Bistro Table did not come with any chairs, I was given the option of design and type of chairs I wanted...I chose all matching chairs, so I had to wait for them to be made, and these two tables etc arrived today. ;o))
I have been looking at wallpaper's for shop and I think I have seen the perfect one for downstairs at least. :o)
They popped this current magazine article of their work in and it mention's my Bistro Tables etc. :o))

Hopefully by my next post I will have my craft room set up. I still have the smaller storage items to buy (the type to go on my craft table etc), but I will be able to resume my mini work though when the new table is in situ!

A big warm welcome to my new followers….I hope you don’t mind my ramblings and madness! :o))

    1. Hi Sally,

      Thank you!

I am motivated most of the time, but this was a special cause! However too and in this instance it was a catch 22 situation...my craft room was a mess and so was my summerhouse after I switched so much stuff around. If I wanted to get any mini work done I'd have to get tidying and organised!

I just got stuck in and almost literally too! lol
I went to work in my summerhouse and in order to get the chests under the work top I had to move out all the boxes and unpack them. I started to stack up all the empty boxes around me....so much so that I packed and boxed myself in and couldn't get out! lol I had to ring the house for someone to come and rescue me! lol

I could have had better and warmer weather...the coldest weekend this year so far! So off I went with a cashmere jumper on, a thick woollen cardigan and over the knee woolly socks! lol I had a mug of hot cocoa at half time! :o))

  2. Now I know why you've been so quiet over the weekend LOL Your craftroom is coming along wonderfully, it will be a wonderful space to work in. The cupboard idea is brilliant and will give you lots more space for even more projects :0)

    1. LOL Only the mad and the restless Julia! I needed to get cracking on getting it all sorted out and before the rest of the furniture arrived today (which it has! :o)))))))) )

I need to organise all the bits in the room and have a reshuffle....ole Humpty and Nikki's potting corner will have a home in here. Slug and Jiggers and Sugar Plum's will be moved up here over the weekend too.

The shelf was a great idea...I've seen the concept around and just thought I was loosing the thing I actually wanted the most...most space for my projects. ;o))

    1. Thank you Julie! I'm so thrilled with it....but oddly and mostly with my new look Summerhouse!!! I'm just so relieved I finally have a workable place where most of my mini work is done and will be able to find all the bits I need sooo much easier! lol

The chairs are so much better in real life...I loved them because they were so quirky and different. :o)

  5. The craft room looks great now!

And the other two bistro tables look so great, I can just imagine what mrs pudifoot looks like now :D can't wait to see more minis for this shop!

The shop which cannot be named looks grea, at the side of slug and jiggers! I like that the windows are slightly lower that the normal :) will look brilliant with the others on top of the drawers :D

    Amazing as ever Michelle!

Oh, another thing, awaiting an email from a company at the minute... We're you wanting Matlock shelving for sugar plums? If the reply, when it comes, says they have what I'm looking for, then I may have some good news for you! (if it was Matlock you were wanting :D) though I'm not keeping my hopes up yet!

    1. Hi Michael,

Well I won't be filling this shop anytime soon, I just want to get the building done sometime this year... I hope!

The project that can't be named won't live by the side of ole Slugs, it's going to live on the top shelf of my built-in cupboard...it fits perfectly. :o)) The windows are not as big as the newer Sid Cooke buildings.

I've been looking at all sorts of online etc shops for shop furniture. I may commission them as I am a bit specific as to what I want.

  6. LOVE the tables and chairs, they are so perfect and so very different! I love the colour of the shop, is that the colour its going to be, or dont tell me im complimenting your primer lol!!! The bookcase is great, i love my white one, and now have 4 room boxes on it and several dolls in little vignette ( is that the right word??!!) to cut down on bigger houses. I have books and DVDs too on my lower shelves, mostly Potter ones of course!! You wont want to come out of there when its done, crank up that heating, on with the Potter DVD's in the background and away you go!!! xxxx

    1. I'm glad that you like the tables and chairs...they are so wacky, but will suit the wonderful and weird world of Harry Potter! lol

ROFL arh, dontcha love a bit of primer! Glasses anyone?! lol I have a Craig & Rose colour for it...I think it will suit it as it's a light coloured shop and it's sitting next to Sugar Plum's..so two weird and wacky shops side-by-side.

I know you have a bookcase filled with mini's...I remember it. :o))) I thought it was silly to replace mine with 2 smaller units that I couldn't add any projects to..which IS what I really wanted.

I have a few kits in the tall units, once they are out I do plan on moving the books/DVD's in there...I may only keep books on the very bottom shelf.

I received your email...I hope to reply tonight. :o)

    1. Aww thank you Ewa!

I just wish I worked faster...maybe I will be able to with more space and most importantly a bigger craft table.

I am lucky and for that I am thankful. :o))I think it looks better now it looks what it is! I guess it's not a bad size..it's not huge by any means...hmmm 15 feet by 10 feet, so I am most fortunate to have the summerhouse too.

      Hugs to you,

  12. What a great way to start the new year Michelle. I know it must seem like it will never end but before you know it your last pieces of furniture will have arrived and you will be back to creating rather than sorting!

It will all be worth it.......eventually!!

    1. It is! I just wish it was done over a year ago! lol

It does seem like forever and that I've been going through stuff forever. My priority for proper organisation was the summer house where all my supplies for buildings, gardens etc are kept. Deep joy it's so easy to hand now. ;o)) I'll move onto proper sorting in the craft room or studio as some of my friends now call it (!) later.

My furniture is nearly built and ready, I'm so terribly thrilled!! :o)))))

  13. I have hobby room envy here! It looks to me as if you're over the worst now and on the last lap - the room looks great. I laughed at you boxing yourself in.

The little chairs are really dainty, really nice.

    1. Awww Irene!

If you have the space grab it, even if it's half a room! I am most certainly over the worst. It's been hard work, but soooo worth it.

Good job I don't suffer from cabin fever...I would have never coped with the box thingy! lol

The little chairs are lovely and the seats and table tops are some kind of mineral...a friend and I think it could be granite, but the blue table has these lovely strata type lines/markings in it.. I don't think it's marble. I should have asked! ;o)
